A police investigation has been launched following accusations an officer “engaged in persistent lies” in her role as a school governor.
The father of a pupil at Honywood Community Science School, in Westfield Drive, Coggeshall, lodged a formal complaint with Essex Police about the conduct of Inspector Chris Kilgallen.
The pupil’s father claims he was unaware Ms Kilgallen was acting as a school governor when investigating complaints relating to his child, since she appeared in meetings dressed in full police uniform and used her Essex Police email address in correspondence.
The parent subsequently complained to the Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC) that Essex Police had failed to properly record his complaint.
