A well-known Witham GP has quit the NHS amid claims it is being destroyed by central Government.
Dr Roy Melamed is resigning from his post at the Douglas Grove where he has been since 1998 after becoming disillusioned with the health service.
The father-of-four, who will be switching to the private sector, said: “We are fighting resources being cut left, right and centre, we are fighting the privatisation of the NHS.
“I feel demoralised and disillusioned and plea to politicians to help the NHS, not destroy it.”
