Braintree's newest community centre will have a brand spanking new kitchen thanks to the Braintree and Witham Times.
Reporter Nina Morgan presented delighted Archer Community Centre trustees and members with a £9,000 cheque to ensure the East Street centre has an all-singing all-dancing area to prepare refreshments.
The money will pay for units, a cooker, dishwasher, fridge and possibly more appliances.
Trustee Trina Whittaker said: “It is quite exciting because all the plaster is done ready for the new kitchen so it is really lovely.
“It is looking pretty good."
The Braintree and Witham Times’ grant from the paper’s parent company of the paper, Gannett, will go a long way to helping the premises get up and running by the end of March.
The community centre is holding an open day on Friday (January 31) from 2pm-4pm. Everyone is welcome.
