BWT gives community centre £9K kitchen

Braintree's newest community centre will have a brand spanking new kitchen thanks to the Braintree and Witham Times.

Reporter Nina Morgan presented delighted Archer Community Centre trustees and members with a £9,000 cheque to ensure the East Street centre has an all-singing all-dancing area to prepare refreshments.

The money will pay for units, a cooker, dishwasher, fridge and possibly more appliances.

Trustee Trina Whittaker said: “It is quite exciting because all the plaster is done ready for the new kitchen so it is really lovely.
“It is looking pretty good."

The Braintree and Witham Times’ grant from the paper’s parent company of the paper, Gannett, will go a long way to helping the premises get up and running by the end of March.

The community centre is holding an open day on Friday (January 31) from 2pm-4pm. Everyone is welcome.

Hey Guys (Yellow Peril, sKorch, STR, Jack, Keith, /@|_|@\ and UTCAA) this is it! We've hit the big time at last. Whoopee!

Well anyway it's probably the closest we'll ever get to being invited to the Newsquest Ball.

Can you believe it. Singing, Dancing, Freshly Cooked Nosh - and to cap it all the BWT chucking their money about!

See you all there. Last one to arrive buys the Editor a beer!

Bhudeeka get yer frock out! I'll be round to pick you up. We'll burn some rubber between Witham and Braintree that afternoon I promise you. Just keep a lookout through the net curtains for a Bright Yellow Reliant Robin around half past one time.

If you know whats goodferyer you'll avert thy gaze and bring yer own chick!

Well be-bop-a-lula, she's my baby
Be-bop-a-lula, I don't mean maybe
Be-bop-a-lula, she's my baby
Be-bop-a-lula, I don't mean maybe
Be-bop-a-lula, she's my baby love
My baby love, my baby love

Well she's the girl you shall not mock
She'll be there in her best party frock
She's the one that loves me so
Just get wise to that or you’d better not go

Say, be-bop-a-lula, she's my baby
Be-bop-a-lula, I don't mean maybe
Be-bop-a-lula, she's my baby love
My baby love, my baby love.

Well she's the one with size ten feet
She's the one I’m longing to meet
She's the one that creates such awe
They all crawl back for more, more, more

Say, be-bop-a-lula, she's my baby
Be-bop-a-lula, I don't mean maybe

My baby love, my baby love
