Braintree has one of the highest recycling rates in Essex, according to the latest data.
The most recent recycling performance for Essex authorities was reviewed in November 2013 and looked at the first half of the current financial year.
Braintree’s recycling rate of 56.7 per cent is higher then the 2012/13 national average of 43.2 per cent, but below that of the EU rate of 63.6 per cent in 2011, according to data published by Eurostat in March last year.
