Thieves stole distinctive jewellery during a burglary in Braintree.

The break-in happened at a home in Coggeshall Road between 12.05am and 6.55pm on Tuesday.

A door at the back of the house was forced and jewellery was stolen.

The items taken included a gold chain with an angel attached, with its wings slightly open and white stones inset, a brooch with a blue background and Iris flower on it, a men’s gold signet ring, and a silver nurse’s belt buckle.

Anyone with information about the raid is urged to call PC Mark King at Braintree police station on 101.
