Fresh doubts have been raised over the long-term future of Braintree Community Hospital.
The concerns come as it was revealed the hospital’s integrated orthopaedic service, which offers numerous tests and treatments for patients with complex musculoskeletal conditions, will be axed.
Doubts had already been raised about its profitability after Serco, which manages the hospital, announced last month that it was seeking to cut short its contract following huge financial losses and a lack of referrals.
