A school is tackling a challenging play about bullying.

Year 7,8 and 9 pupils from Alec Hunter Academy will be performing Sparkleshark, a play that explores life as a teenager and all the problems and joys that come with it.

It charts the story of Jake who finds it hard to make friends and struggles with the school bullies.

But he has a gift for storytelling, helping him to make friends with Polly, a no-nonsense teenager.

How will the likes of Russell, Buzz, Speed, Natasha and Carol react to Polly's new friend and will Jake's creative stories be enough to save him for one mighty beating from the bullies?

The performance will be performed twice daily Wednesday and Thursday at 6.15pm and 7.30pm.

Tickets for one performance: Adults £4, children £2. For two performances: Adults £5, children £3.

Available from school office and via parent pay.

Under 16’s must be accompanied by an adult.

Sparkleshark is presented by special arrangement with Samuel French.

Would be helpful if the article mentioned the name of the school given that it suggests purchasing tickets from the school office.
