Work will start on February 3 to halve the number of London plane trees on Coggeshall Road, Braintree and is expected to last for two weeks.

The trees were planted as part of the Marks Farm development and will now be thinned to allow the remaining trees to reach their full height.

Councillor Wendy Schmitt, Cabinet Member for Place at Braintree District Council said: "The plan has always been to plant more trees than required and then remove half once they begin to mature."
