A mum has raised more than £1,000 for Cancer Research UK after shaving her head.
Julie Cordery, of Rivermead, in Braintree, went for the chop at Headmasters Hairdressers, in Coggeshall Road, after being inspired by friends battling the disease.
Mrs Cordery, who works at Caring 4 U in Great Bardfield, said: "I've worked for a care agency for the last ten years so on a day to day basis I see and hear lots about people affected by cancer.
“Lots of the people we look after are having palliative care and those are getting younger and younger and there’s got to be something out there that this money will be able to do to help them.
“Everyone seems to do marathons or similar and I just wanted to step out of my comfort zone and bring in some money.”
Mrs Cordery, has raised £1,360 so far, to donate, visit justgiving.com/user/45152701
