A man has been arrested on suspicion of taking a vehicle without consent.

The 45-year-old man was arrested after police stopped a grey Seat on the A12 near Kelvedon at about 11.30am on January 15.

The Police helicopter was called up to assist with the stop at about 11.20am.

The man, who is from the Chelmsford area, has been bailed until February 11 pending further inquiries.

Officers also pulled over a BMW before the driver was allowed to go on his way.
