Popstar Olly Murs will be hoping for a change in fortunes after he was nominated for a Brit Award for the fourth year running.

The Witham singer, 29, has been shortlisted for British single of the year for his song Dear Darlin’, which reached number five in the charts in June.

Last year Olly, who has never won a Brit, walked away empty handed from the high-profile ceremony, despite nominations in the best male artist and best single categories.

Dear Darlin’ is on a ten-strong shortlist for the best single award, alongside hits from the likes of One Direction, Ellie Goulding and Calvin Harris.

This year’s ceremony, which is being held at the O2 in London, will be broadcast live on ITV on February 19.
