Budding young singers will be pleased to hear that a local youth choir is searching for new members.
Funky Monkeys, formerly known as the Vocal Reflections Youth Choir, was started last year and got off to a great start with performances at various fundraising events and sang in George Yard, Braintree just before Christmas.
The group is directed by Lin Hargrave who is also the musical director of Vocal Reflections, another local choir who performed at the Camden Roundhouse during the summer and who have recently recorded some of their favourite tracks.
The group’s singing style is fun and informal with a wide repertoire of music including songs by Bruno Mars, Olly Murs and One Direction.
The group is open to anyone aged seven to 16 who loves to sing.
Meetings are held every Friday at 6pm ay the RCCE Room in Leighs Village Hall, Boreham Road, Great Leighs.
Each meeting is £2 for members.
