A woman has been remanded in custody after being charged with the attempted murder of her husband.
Elaine Freeman, 55, of Watts Close, Barnston, near Dunmow, has been charged with attempted murder of her husband Stephen Freeman and possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life.
Police officers were called to an incident in Watts Close at 11.10pm on Sunday evening after reports of a gun shot and a domestic dispute.
No one was injured.
Freeman appeared before magistrates in Colchester this afternoon and will be remanded in custody before appearing at Chelmsford Crown Court on March 17.
