An attack in Braintree town centre left a man with a broken nose and fractured eye socket.
A 32-year-old Braintree man was assaulted outside The Bull in Market Place at 1.30am on Christmas day.
An ambulance service spokesman said: “The man suffered a facial injury and our crews conveyed him to Broomfield Hospital for further treatment.
“His condition wasn’t thought to be life threatening.”
An Essex Police spokesman added: “We are waiting to take a statement from him.
“Anyone with any information is urged to contact Braintree CID on 101.”
This attack follows a separate town centre attack on December 21 in which a 21-year-old Braintree man was assaulted by a gang of men in the road near Barclays bank.
