Two brothers will appear in court later this month after they were charged with offences relating to a street fight on New Year’s Day.
The disturbance took place in Little Canfield shortly before 1am, when officers arrived to find a large number of people on Burgattes Road trying to split up Rhys and Rikki Bryant, who had been involved in a fight.
The pair were arrested, later charged and are now on police bail prior to their appearances at ColchesterMagistrates Court on January 21.
Rhys Bryant, a 20-year-old electrician from Ramsey Drive in the village, was charged with one count of using threatening behaviour with intent to provoke unlawful violence.
His 25-year-old unemployed brother from Wollaston Close in Gillingham, Rikki, was charged with one count of assault and one count of also using threatening behaviour with intent to provoke unlawful violence.
