Police have released a photograph of a man they wish to talk to in connection with a murder at Colchester 15 years ago.

Grant Byrom, 30, died after being stabbed at Forest Road on Boxing Day 1998.

Detectives have also issued a fresh appeal for information about the murder and want to hear from anyone who can help find Michael Donnelly who is wanted in connection with the incident and is now believed to be living abroad.

DI Anne Cameron said: "A murder case is never filed and we are still actively trying to progress this investigation.

"It has been 15 years since Grant Byrom was murdered in Colchester and his family along with the community have the right to see justice for this callous act.

"Michael Seamus Donnelly is wanted on suspicion of murder and although detectives do make regular enquiries to trace him we are advised that he no longer lives in England.

"We are keen to locate Mr Donnelly and want to hear from anyone who has any information about his whereabouts. We would also like to hear from anyone, who has not yet spoken to police, with further information about the murder of Mr Byrom.”

Anyone who can help should contact Essex Police on 101 or call Colchester Major Crime office on 01206 576845.
