Police are investing incidents in which fuel caps were tampered with in Witham.
An Essex Police spokesman said: “Police received reports about fuel caps being tampered with in Deben Close, Witham, overnight on December 23.
“The fuel cap was snapped off a green Jaguar S-Type and a grey Audi A5 also had the fuel cap prized off.
“No fuel was taken.”
One victim, who asked not to be named, said: “I have learned from one of the other victims that, in an adjoining road, other vehicles were vandalised at the same time.
“It seems that property was also stolen.
“Surely all of us affected by these insidious criminals must have reported this to the police by now?
“If you have been a victim of this mindless vandalism of your property, and have not informed the Police, please do so now on 101.”
