A Braintree reveller wants his attackers brought to justice after he was kicked, punched and beaten with a belt by a group of eight men in the street.

The beating only stopped when a coach pulled up and could not pass because the 21-year-old was lying in Rayne Road between Barclays and Parc charity shop covered in blood.

Horrified passengers got off and one of the women called an ambulance and tried to make the former Alec Hunter Humanities College pupil comfortable.

The victim, who lives in Braintree, had enjoyed a night out with his friend before the unprovoked attack.

He was taken to Broomfield Hospital, Chelmsford, where he was given a CT scan.

He said: “One of them pulled his belt off with a metal buckle and whacked it round my head.
“Then I was on the floor and all of them were kicking me."
