A former John Bunyan Junior School pupil is hoping to track down old friends after finding a photo of his school football team.
David Scarlett, 54, of Hall Road, in Panfield, found the snap of the John Bunyan Junior School football team among photographs collected by his father, Reg Scarlett, who recently passed away.
The photo was taken after the team won a tournament organised by the Braintree and Witham Times in May 1970.
Mr Scarlett said: “It was taken at a competition run by the paper for the local primary schools and we won it.
“We played a Coggeshall school in the final and won 8-2.
“It was probably the highlight of some of our footballing careers.
“Dad managed to get a day off work to watch the match so it’s nice he managed to hang onto the photo.
“It’s lovely that the photo was one of his prized possessions and I thought it would be nice to show it.
“It would be interesting to see if any one knows the guys or if they got in touch to see how good at football we are now!”
