Gritting lorries will continue to go out over Christmas.
Essex County Council has reassured residents vital services will go on throughout the festive period.
The Essex Highways fleet of gritting lorries will be on call 24 hours a day to keep the main roads clear, so the emergency services or meals on wheels can reach those who require the services.
Recycling centres will be closed on Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day, and will close at 1pm on Christmas Eve and New Year’s Eve.
Council leader David Finch said: “Staff at the county council will continue to work throughout the festive period to ensure vital services can be delivered to all.
“I want to take this opportunity to express my gratitude for those who will be working with vulnerable adults and children across the festive period.”
