THE death of a schoolboy remains unclear after an open verdict was recorded at an inquest.
David Shreeve, 12, was found hanged at his home in London Road, Kelvedon, on April 12.
David, a pupil at Honywood Community Science School in Coggeshall, was airlifted to Addenbrooke’s Hospital, Cambridge, where he spent three weeks before he died on May 5.
The inquest, held today at New Bridge House, in Chelmsford, found the cause of David's death to be respiratory failure due to brain injury.
Caroline Beasley-Murray, HM Senior Coroner for Essex, recorded an open verdict.
