Despite the overwhelming feelings of being a new mum, Liz Clements did everything she could to be the perfect mother and wife.
From cooking a full meal with baby Olivia strapped to her in a sling, keeping the house spotless and hanging the washing out to dry, Liz, 30, now admits she was trying to prove more to herself than anyone else.
Liz battled through post-natal depression and is now using her experiences to help other mums cope with the condition.
Two and a half years on and Liz is much better, off anti-depressants and a few months ago launched a support group for women in a similar situation.
She said: “The Witham Post Natal Depression Support Group is now part of SureStart Witham and we have our own budget, six core members and a regular flow of new mums."
