Essex: Two men arrested on suspicion of attempted murder of teenager

Braintree and Witham Times: Essex: Two men arrested on suspicion of attempted murder of teenager Essex: Two men arrested on suspicion of attempted murder of teenager

Two men have been arrested in connection with the attempted murder of a 17-year-old boy.

The teenager was run down by a car and stabbed twice in Dorset Avenue at 10.15pm on November 21.

He remains critically ill in hospital.

On Friday, detectives appealed for Richard Frost, 35, his partner Kay Phillips, 26, and their five-month-old son to contact police.

Officers wanted to question Mr Frost in connection with the attempted murder and there was growing concern for the safety of both Kay and the baby.

Last night a 35-year-old man from Chelmsford was arrested at a police station in the county on suspicion of attempted murder and a 22-year-old man was arrested at his home in the Thurrock area, also on suspicion of attempted murder.

At this stage, police have still been unable to make any direct contact with Kay Phillips and are continuing to attempt to find their whereabouts and ascertain their safety and welfare.

Kay Phillips is described as white, approximately 5ft 4in tall and has shoulder-length or long blonde hair.

Anyone with information on her whereabouts is urged to contact Essex Police on 999 while those with information on the attempted murder of the teenage boy should contact detectives in the incident room at Brentwood on 101, call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111 or email SCDappeals@essex.pnn.police.uk

Where is Dorset Road? What is the point of not stating which town is featured in this news article? Just mentioning ‘Dorset Road’ alone is meaningless to the readers in Braintree.

Sadly the BWT seems incapable of learning from its past mistakes. It did precisely the same thing only just three months ago when it failed to mention - until prompted by ‘Yours Truly’ - where ‘Monkwick’ was. (Readers may recall that that was the report concerning the murder of Kirsty Humphrey).

Please Mr Editor Sir, do get a grip of your recalcitrant and lethargic staff. It really should not be so difficult for them to put themselves in the mind of the eventual reader and take just a moment or two to ask themselves "are they really making sense"?

Tut Tut!

Maybe you need a consultant TQM Guru to come and inculcate them with some understanding of, and enthusiasm for their job. Or of course you could always sack and replace them.

Happy Christmas!

P.S. By the Way. Me; The Stinker Returns; /@|_|@\; Sportacus5928; the Lovely Bhudeeka and the rest of the gang are all still waiting for our invitations to the Newsquest Ball. Nothing wrong is there?

No, sorry, sKortch - you weren't on the invitation list so actually we'll all have a jolly ol' time. Thanks for your concern though, mate.

Table? What table?

We'll be about as popular as a pork chop in a synagogue I reckon, but who cares? If they so much as throw a bit of straw down in one corner so we can squat on our haunches around a crate of Brown Ale and a Firkin of Fremlins Special KK we should count ourselves lucky!

In fact I rather think it's going to be a night to remember.

(Note for the organiser: Please don't scrimp on the Pickled Eggs and Onions). Indeed that should help make it a morning after to remember as well. Phoor!
