An ambulance cadet who came to the aid of a neighbour when she was hit by a car has received royal recognition.
Former Honywood pupil Matthew Harrington-Keeton, of Sarcel, in Stisted, has been a volunteer with the Braintree and Bocking St John Ambulance Cadets for six years.
In August, he assessed and treated a neighbour when she was involved in a collision with a car outside his home.
The 16-year-old was invited to the annual St John Ambulance Young Achievers’ Reception in London two weeks ago, where he met HRH The Princess Royal, who is a patron.
