A Braintree man is offering a reward after hundreds of pounds worth of tools were stolen from his van in a restaurant car park.

Property refurbisher Alan Curry was dining with family at Fowlers Farm in Braintree to celebrate his son’s seventeenth birthday when brazen thieves struck.

Mr Curry, 52, said: “It’s just outrageous that they would do this in a pub car park.

“I have had to cancel jobs because of it, so it has caused quite a loss all in all.

“I’m willing to put up a reward for the conviction resulting in a custodial sentence of the idiots who did this, call it £1,000, I don’t care about the money."
