Hundreds of people gathered for services and a Remembrance Day procession to pay their respects to the fallen.
Members of the Braintree branch of the Royal British Legion, youth organisations such as guiding and scouting groups, and the public attended a wreath laying service in the Braintree and Bocking Public Gardens before marching to St Michaels Church for a service.
A service was also held in St Peter Ad Vinacula Church in Coggeshall, followed by a service at the war memorial in East Street.
