Witham: Supermarket plan for disused pub
4:00pm Thursday 31st October 2013 in News
Supermarket chain Morrisons hopes to open a new store on the site of a disused pub.
A planning application has been lodged with Braintree Council to make changes to the Jack and Jenny, in Hatfield Road, Witham.
The pub, formerly owned by brewer Brakspear, has been closed since October 2011.
Laura Stubbs, Morrisons communication adviser, said: “We’re in the early stages of discussion about bringing a Morrisons M local to Witham.
“We look forward to sharing our plans with the community, should things progress.”
Each Morrisons M local store creates about 20 jobs.
