UK Power Networks hopes to have power restored to almost all homes by the end of the day.
Since Monday's storms is has restored power to about 700,000 homes.
A few thousand properties are still currently without power.
Director of customer services Matt Rudling said: “There may be a few remote properties that will take a little longer but we are now confident that we can return virtually all properties’ power supplies by the end of today.
"We have only been able to do this through the efforts of our outstanding workforce. This has been a difficult time for our customers and we thank them for the patience they have shown∙"
There are currently about 3,400 properties in the East of England without power and approximately 460 in the South East. Some counties were back to normal by Tuesday (Bedfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Norfolk and Cambridgeshire).
The storm was the biggest the company has coped with since 2002, and it caused extensive damage to overhead power lines. More than 1,000 specialist engineers were called in from Liverpool, Yorkshire, South Wales and the Midlands with new arrivals from Northern Ireland today. Once all power supplies are restored there will still be repairs and cleaning up to be carried out over the coming days to ensure the network is fully restored to its usual reliable state.
