Braintree: Tenant fears supermarket plan could make him homeless
9:00am Tuesday 29th October 2013 in News
A tenant fears he could be made homeless if a proposed Tesco Express store opens.
Alan Ashley, 45, lives in a flat above the Jubilee Oak Express newsagents and post office in Cressing Road, Braintree.
The shop’s owners fear its future could be in jeopardy if the supermarket chain opens a new branch at the former Kings Head pub in Coggeshall Road.
Mr Ashley, who is disabled and has previously been homeless for five years, worries he would not be able to find a new home if the Jubilee Oak was forced to close.
