1:00pm Sunday 27th October 2013 in News
Charities received their share of £18,000 following a record breaking charity golf day.
Daniel Robinson and Sons, which has branches across the district, held its ninth annual event to raise money for local charities.
Following the event at Colne Valley Golf Club, which raised the highest amount so far, a donation was made to Braintree Rainbows, Brownies and Guides to replace equipment lost in the John Ray Infant School fire.
Money was also given to organisations such as Essex Air Ambulance, St Helena Hospice, Cruse bereavement service and the Dunmow Stroke Club.
Braintree manager Lizzy Bollington-Kinch said: “It was another day where local businesses pulled together to raise a brilliant amount of money for local charities.”
