Braintree: Hit-and-run victim is grateful for help
5:00pm Friday 18th October 2013 in News
A hit-and-run victim has come forward to thank those who helped him.
Paul Dawson, 52, cracked ribs and damaged his foot when he was knocked off his motorbike by a silver Toyota Avensis in Coldnailhurst Avenue, Braintree, on October 7.
He was allegedly dragged off the road and left bleeding on the pavement by the passenger of the car, which was then driven off by a female driver.
Mr Dawson said: “Two people ran me over but about six people came to my aid.
“The girlfriend held my hand and when you’re not really sure what’s happening it’s nice to feel that people care even if they don’t know you.
“I’d just like to thank them all for being nice people and for looking out for me even though I was a stranger.”
A spokesperson from Essex Police said: “Police are continuing to appeal for witnesses to a road crash that happened in Coldnailhurst Avenue in which a motorcyclist was injured.
“Anyone with information should contact Braintree 101.”
