Braintree: £15K legacy brings beauty spot back to life
11:00am Thursday 17th October 2013 in News
A neglected area of a public garden is being transformed into a beauty spot thanks to a Braintree woman’s legacy.
Pauline Hart, who died in July last year aged 82, left £15,000 to the Braintree and Bocking Public Gardens Trust.
The money has been used to help pay for a new £25,000 bridge over the pond, which will be named the Pauline Hart Bridge.
Braintree resident Mark Brereton has also offered his services free of charge to clear out the pond, plant it with lilies and bring the fountain back to life.
