Braintree: Nursery allowed to keep play equipment
9:00am Monday 21st October 2013 in News
Delighted nursery owners have been spared the prospect of having to tear down expensive play equipment.
Kidorable, in Courtauld Road, Braintree, had lodged a retrospective application for an outdoor play area which was already in place.
But the presence of a birdwatching tower on stilts was deemed to be intrusive to neighbouring properties, and Braintree Council planning officers had recommended the application for refusal.
Complete refusal of the application would have meant the nursery had to also remove a ground-level playhouse and decking area.
But members of the council’s planning committee instead decided to split the application to allow the playhouse to remain in place at a meeting last week.
