6:00pm Monday 14th October 2013 in News
The home of one of Britain's great artists has been redisplayed for the first time in five years.
Famous for his portraits and landscapes, Thomas Gainsborough was born in Sudbury in 1727 until 1740 when he was sent to London to pursue a career as an artist.
He returned to his home town in 1749, where he painted some of his most celebrated works.
Now the exhibition has been redisplayed and expanded.
An exhibition of 'Contemporary East Anglian Artists and Tudor Life' will also begin at the house, on Gainsborough Street, Sudbury, on Saturday 19.
The house is open Monday to Saturday between 10am and 5pm.
Admission is £6.50 for adults, £2 for children and students and family tickets are available for £15.
