9:00am Wednesday 9th October 2013 in News
A WITHAM man has suffered potentially “life-changing injuries” after an alleged attack at a wake in the town centre.
Stuart White, 58, who lives on the Templars estate with his wife Tracy, was unconscious as he was taken to Broomfield Hospital in a life-threatening condition and with potentially “life-changing” injuries.
Police, a rapid response vehicle, ambulance and ambulance officer attended the scene near the junction of Newland Street and Collingwood Road just after 1.30am on Saturday 5.
David Finch, of Alicia Close, Cawston, near Rugby, appeared at court charged with grievious bodily harm. It is alleged Finch punched Mr White to the face before kicking and punching him on the floor.
Finch, 45, entered no plea and was remanded in custody to appear at Chelmsford Crown Court on December 16 after a bail application was refused by magistrates.
