Braintree: Mum calls for speed bumps after cat's road death
3:00pm Saturday 5th October 2013 in News
A heartbroken mum is calling for speed bumps to be installed in a residential street after her beloved cat was run down.
Paula Seaborn says her pet, a 15-month-old black and white cat called Buddy, became the third or fourth to be killed in Wheatley Avenue, Braintree, in less than a year when it was knocked down last Wednesday evening.
The mother-of-five claims drivers regularly mistake the street for a through road and drive well in excess of the speed limit.
Mrs Seaborn, 44, claims motorbikes also speed along the road and mount the kerb to pass the bollards into Cunnington Road at the other end.
