Six people have been released on bail following a double stabbing on the Marks Farm estate.

One of the stabbing victims has left hospital, but the other is likely to remain in hospital for the rest of the week.

District Commander, Chief Inspector Richard Melton has tried to reassure residents that Braintree is still a safe place to live following the events of last Wednesday.

He said: “Obviously, we’re focused on a specific address.

“The rest of the road is a nice safe place.”
