Braintree district: Remembrance service to be held
7:00pm Thursday 26th September 2013 in News
Family and friends are invited to a service to remember loved ones.
Witham based funeral directors G Collins and Sons will hold the remembrance service at 3pm on Sunday at St Peter’s Church in Bocking, Braintree.
Gemma Burdon, who is a fifth generation of the family firm, which began more than a century ago, said: “Two hundred people attended last year.
“We invite all the families that we have helped to come along and remember their loved one and enjoy a cup of tea and piece of cake, but it’s a Service of Remembrance for everybody.
“Families are able to light a candle in memory of their loved ones prior to the service which creates a beautiful atmosphere in the church and the names of the departed are read out by the Minister.
“Bringing people together to remember and talk to others can bring a great deal of comfort.”
