Braintree: Light at the end of the tunnel for pupils' bus woes
2:00pm Saturday 28th September 2013 in News
Youngster were being forced to walk along a dangerous road because a bus was too full to take them to school in Braintree.
Alec Hunter Academy pupils were regularly unable to board the 8am First 131 bus from the shelter near Tye Green post office because it was already crowded.
A First spokesman said: "Our Network team have been working on a solution to the overcrowding on the 131/132 service.
"Part of the problem has been our inability to operate double deckers on the route because of low hanging trees.
"To help give an immediate solution to the problem, we will be running a duplicate service in the mornings, so any passengers unable to get on the first bus, will be picked up by the second."
