Witham: Boy was punched in school 'game'
2:00pm Friday 27th September 2013 in News
A Witham mum says she would rather face prison than continue sending her son to a school where she believes he is being bullied.
Mum-of-four Claire Chatfield claims her 10-year-old son Luke Smith had his arms held behind his back by other children as he was punched in the tummy at Powers Hall Junior School - a game which is now banned, according to headteacher Jane Bass.
Mrs Bass said: “The children developed a game, a policing type game and they were arresting people.
“We have spoken to all the children concerned and that game is no longer being played."
