Braintree: Children's author to visit Braintree Arts Centre

An award-winning children’s author will be revealing details of her new book for teenagers on Saturday 28 September.
Lauren Child, author of the Ruby Redfort teen detective series and children’s hit Charlie and Lola, will be appearing at the Braintree Arts Theatre as part of a series of events by Just Imagine to promote reading and writing.
Just Imagine Director, Nikki Gamble, the director of Just Imagine, said: “I’m delighted that such an inspiring writer as Lauren Child is visiting Braintree because it’s always special for youngsters to meet the person behind the books they love. Ruby Redfort is a great character and the books are proving really popular with older readers.”
Lauren, who has won the Smarties Prize, the Kate Greenaway Medal and the Red House Children’s Book Award, will at the theatre from 2pm.
The event is suitable for children eight years and older.
