Braintree: Man suffered serious injuries in collision that closed A120
10:29pm Saturday 21st September 2013 in News
A MAN was taken to hospital with serious injuries following a two car collision that closed part of the A120 for more than two hours.
All of the emergency services were called to the carriageway between the Galleys Corner and Marks Farm roundabouts after both cars ended up in a ditch.
It is not yet clear what caused the collision, between the black Fiat 500 and black Citroen C2, which happened just before 8pm on Saturday night.
Three fire crews spent almost an hour cutting the male driver of the Fiat free and he was taken to hospital with fractures.
The air ambulance was initially requested but the driver was instead taken to hospital by land ambulance.
The driver of the Citroen and their passengers suffered minor injuries.
The carriageway remained closed until 10.15pm while officers cleared the road.
