Braintree: Internet troll has no regrets despite death threats to family
3:00pm Thursday 19th September 2013 in News
A self-proclaimed internet troll insists he does not care that his wife and children receive death threats due to his actions.
A 51-year-old Braintree man, who uses the name Old Holborn, on Twitter, was investigated by police after posting offensive remarks about the Hillsborough disaster and the murder of James Bulger in April.
But, in an appearance on ITV’s Tonight programme, entitled Fear and Loathing Online, he expressed no regret for his actions.
Old Holborn was interviewed for the show, which aired last week, but his face was obscured throughout.
When asked by reporter Jonathan Maitland if his family knew about his actions online, he said: “They are the ones receiving most of the death threats at the moment.
“They don’t get hurt by it. If that’s the price for free speech, they are perfectly happy with that.”
