Witham: School boy singer through to regional finals of competition
5:00pm Sunday 22nd September 2013 in News
A budding young singer has made it through to the regional finals of a national singing competition.
Callum Hoskin, 11, was thrilled to make it through to the next stage of the 2013 Open Mic contest after performing just one verse and chorus of his own composition, Bad Time Alone.
“It was a relief more than everything else, I was first to sing in a group of four and was asked to stop after a little bit,” said Callum.
“I then had a 15 minute wait before finding out the result.”
The Maltings school-boy composed and produced his song at home in Mersey Road, Witham, on his keyboard and computer.
Winners of the regional final on October 20 at the Palace Theatre, Southend will compete in the Grand Final at The O2.
Tickets can be purchased from Callum's mum Paula Hoskins on 01376 519755. For more information visit: openmicuk.co.uk
