Braintree: Lorry driver death was "an accident"
1:30pm Thursday 12th September 2013 in News
A lorry driver died as a result of an accident, a coroner ruled today.
Michael Stoodley, 64, who lived alone in Rosemary Avenue, Braintree, had been feeling unwell on the day he crashed into a stationary lorry on an A130 layby, known as the Rettendon layby.
Assistant coroner Tina Harrington said: “He probably felt unwell and decided to pull over.
“Sadly he was unable to complete the manoeuvre into the layby and I find that was as a result of his ill health.
“I find that Mr Stoodley died as a result of an accident and that is the verdict I will record.”
