Witham: Residents urged to voice concerns about housing plans
11:00am Sunday 15th September 2013 in News
Care home residents are urging opponents of a housing plan to voice their concerns rather than rely on others to do it for them.
Elderly residents at Helen Court have led a long-running campaign to stop developers building 70 homes on the Gimsons site in Kings Chase, Witham.
A second proposal from Bovis Homes to have Gimsons designated for housing in Braintree Council’s Local Development Framework (LDF) has been unsuccessful, but residents’ spokesman Dennis Miller has warned against complacency.
Braintree Council will consider the latest draft LDF plan, which maps potential development sites across the district up to the year 2026, at a meeting on September 23.
