Braintree: Animals dumped outside rescue centre
2:00pm Friday 13th September 2013 in News
Chickens were dumped in a cardboard box and two kittens were crammed into a rucksack and abandoned outside a rescue centre.
Since finding the homeless animals at its Wethersfield base, the RSPCA Danaher Animal Home has issued a plea for people not to dump animals.
RSPCA deputy manager Deborah Satchell said: “We are getting so many calls to rehome animals at the moment and we just cannot take them in.
The two six-month-old tabby and white kittens were left stuffed into a canvas backpack outside the centre, which has capacity for 84 dogs, 48 cats and 10 rabbits plus numerous small, furry animals like guinea pigs and hamsters.
