11:00am Wednesday 11th September 2013 in News
Generosity can be seen by the bucket load as the Braintree people dig deep to help a school.
Thousands of pounds is being raised through dozens of collections and events following an inferno which destroyed John Ray Infant School in Braintree.
Louise Jamison, chairman of the Friends of John Ray Infants and Juniors, said: “The parents and people of Braintree have been incredibly generous with offers of financial support and help.
“A huge thank you to headteacher Sandra Way and all the staff for their dedication to continue the quality of education.
“They have turned it round within a week.”
Louise added: “What we’re trying to raise money for is all the extras.
“The council set up the school and it’s 40 years of PTA funded equipment that’s gone into it, including play ground equipment and things like nativity costumes.
“It’s all about providing a fund for these things and anything they need now.”
Cheques can be made out to The Friends of John Ray Infants.
Don't forget to include a note so the school know who to thank and send it to John Ray Junior School, Notley Road Braintree, CM7 1HL marked for the attention of the PTA.
