Braintree: Internet troll to 'justify' tweets on national television
5:00pm Thursday 12th September 2013 in News
A notorious internet troll accused of posting a series of offensive messages online will seek to justify his comments on national television.
ITV have confirmed Old Holborn - as the troll is known - will feature in this evening's Tonight programme, Fear and Loathing Online.
He sparked outrage when he posted remarks about the Boston bombing, Hillsborough disaster and James Bulger’s murder on his Twitter account in April.
Following complaints, a 51-year-old Braintree man was interviewed voluntarily by Essex Police in July and a file was passed to the Crown Prosecution Service to consider whether to pursue a case against him.
Old Holborn last appeared on screen, albeit disguised in a pig’s head mask, last June when he sought to defend the right to post offensive messages on Channel Four’s 4thought.tv strand.
