5:00pm Wednesday 11th September 2013 in News
Police were called to a Braintree primary school after a resident mistook the caretaker for an intruder.
The police helicopter and officers on the ground rushed to Lyons Hall Primary School, in Deerleap Way, at about 9.30pm on Friday.
But, it quickly became it was a false alarm.
An Essex Police spokesman said: “A member of the public reported hearing an alarm and seeing someone enter the ground.
“However, officers found that a caretaker had gone to the building to check why the alarm had been sounding.
“There was no further police involvement.”
